Captain Will Willison owns and operates the local on-the-water boat assistance company, TowBoatUS Fort Loudon and Tellico Lake, which offers boaters 24/7 non-emergency assistance with breakdowns, running out of fuel, battery jumps, or running aground. The USCG-licensed Willison, brings a very unusual background to the industry. A graduate of the University of Kentucky and a billboard professional for 20 years, Capt Willison has lived all over the country in markets like Chattanooga, New Orleans, Phoenix, West Palm Beach, Baltimore/DC, Charleston, Atlanta, and finally Knoxville (where he still runs a billboard company in Pigeon Forge-Premier Media). He has a strong background in marketing and customer service, which he feels sets him apart from other owner/operators in the area. “My career has always been about providing a service and keeping customers happy. That is what I am still doing today. Boaters are our customers and they should be treated as such.”

Just Like AAA for cars, TowBoatUS offers on-the-water towing plans for freshwater boaters for just $72 a year, which includes BoatUS membership. Boaters without a towing plan face costs that nationally average $600 per incident. “That’s why signing up for just $72 a year makes a lot of sense,” added Willison. His company is also part of BoatUS Towing Services; the world’s largest on the water towing network with over 300 waterfront locations and over 600 towing assistance vessels — three times larger than the closest competitor. TowBoatUS Fort Loudon and Tellico lakes has three boats servicing the lakes: a 21-foot Stratos with a 225 Mercruiser Optimax which ports at Concord Marina in Knoxville; a 24-foot Edgewater with twin Mercruiser 150s which ports at Fort Loudon Marina in Lenoir City; and a 28 foot Bertram with twin inboard 454 Chryslers which ports at Louisville Landing Marina in Friendsville. The fleet’s three towboats are painted a distinctive red with “TowBoatUS” in white letters along their sides and are fully rigged for towing assistance. TowBoatUS Fort Loudon and Tellico Lakes has 3 additional USCG licensed Captains on call, however Capt. Willison would be the first to tell you he is happy to assist on any call, at any time, under any conditions. “It just means more when your name is on it”.
